Administration
The Faculty of Arts is headed by a Dean, Assoc. Prof . Hannington Sengendo, who is assisted by two Deputy Deans as detailed below. The Dean who is in charge of the Faculty, implements decisions and also acts on behalf of the Faculty Board.
Faculty departments are headed by a Head while a Director heads the Faculty's only Institute of Languages. The Heads are assisted by programme and subject co-ordinators.
The Faculty has a Higher Degrees Committee, chaired by the Dean and is responsible for postgraduate studies. The Higher Degrees Committee is responsible inter-alia for matters of postgraduate candidature including programme reports, supervision, examiners' reports and vetting of proposals. The membership of this Committee includes all Departmental Heads and the Director of the Institute. Every department has a co-ordinator for postgraduate studies.
